Dr. Mahesh Rao is the Chief Executive Officer of Aspire Communications, with a vision to make Aspire a supplier of applications in the field of 802.11a/b and provide world-class services for hardware and software turnkey projects that improve the way businesses works. Before starting Aspire, he worked for 10 years at Intel in various capacities steadily climbing the corporate ladder with a start as a Technical Manager then moving on to be a Project Manager to a General Manager. He has worked on the First USB chipset, First AGP chipset, First 100Mhz SDRAM memory chipset, First Rambus memory based chipset (Intel 820) and the First Integrated Microprocessor. As a Validation Manager he got Intel Achievement Award recognizing his contributions to the 100MHz chipset. He has written several applications notes while at Intel and has successfully built and led startup groups and large teams at Intel. Recently, he was awarded innovator of the year, 2003 by EDN Asia. Before Intel he worked as the Assistant Professor at University of Nevada Reno for 5 years and has published more than 30 publications with half a dozen IEEE journal articles. While at the University he worked in the area of Digital control systems, Meteor burst communications for Military and civilian applications and Embedded hardware designs and has successfully guided several Masters students.

As a first generation entrepreneur, he had a successful stint of over 9 years at his own company involved in manufacturing & marketing of innovative energy saving electronic instruments. Prior to Aspire, Sandeep was heading the Bangalore business operations of eInfochips. Apart from strong academic background in electronics engineering, he has over thirteen years of industry experience in business management, sales & business development.
